Patient Administration Overview

● Default Folders: Create folders for document organization for all patient records

● Emergency Status: Revise emergency status according to internal hospice policies and

procedures

● Equipment: Add all DME equipment necessary

● Hospitalization Reasons: Add common reasons for patient hospitalizations

● Infections: Add common patient infections

● Medications: Add local compounds to the medication list

● Offline Forms: Will be covered in Advanced Training

● Offline Patients: Will be covered in Advanced Training

● On Call Issues: Add common reasons for afterhours phone calls/visits

● Patient Languages: Add additional languages if necessary

● Race/Ethnicity: No action needed; based on Medicare approved information

● Referral Rejections: Add additional reasons for rejecting a referral

● Referrer Types: Add additional referral source types

● Standing Orders: Create standard admission standing orders and any additional standing orders as utilized by your hospice

Marketing Center Training

● Organizations: Add all referring and third-party organizations

● Physician/PA/NP: Add all referring and signing physicians/NPs/PAs

● PECOS Lookup: Search function for active PECOS Physicians

● Practice Types: Add additional Practice Types for Physicians

● Contact Types: Add additional ways to contact an Organization or Physician in a Note

● LEIE Lookup: Search function for licensed staff via the OIG website.
