Who qualifies for Hospice and who pays for the care?
Anyone with a terminal illness and a prognosis of 6 months or less.
Hospice is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and many private insurances.
Does Hospice stop all treatment?
No. Hospice evaluates each clients health needs and provides care accordingly. Medications are used for symptom management. Hospice does NOT euthanize.
Where is Hospice care provided?
Hospice care is provided in the person’s residence, skilled-nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, personal care homes, and wherever you may call home.
